BOOK DESIGN

The task was to update and refresh a beloved DK series, making it relevant for a modern audience while preserving its core essence. This involved a visual overhaul with contemporary design, updated imagery, and refined layouts, alongside a content refresh to enhance engagement and accessibility. The challenge was to honor the series' legacy while introducing innovations that would attract new readers.

The new series look was a collaboration between designers, editors, picture researchers, the publisher, and the art director. It features a matte laminate finish for a sleek, modern feel and a compact paperback format for portability. Each title has a unique design incorporating images from the book's interior, while the series maintains cohesion through vibrant colors and distinct design elements, encouraging readers to collect the entire set.
